1x bottle of Leder Tanning Formula — a chromium salt-based solution that stabilises collagen, making hides resistant to heat, moisture, and microbial attack. This process is faster than many traditional vegetable or tannin-based tanning methods.

1x Fleshing Tool — for removing fat, flesh, and tissue, ensuring the hide is ready for tanning.

1x bottle of Leder Leather Lube — softens and conditions the finished pelt, keeping the leather supple and preventing it from stiffening.
The tanning process is easy and straightforward: after the hide is fleshed and properly salt cured (pickled), it is soaked in the Leder tanning solution mixed with a specific salt-to-water ratio. Once the hide has soaked for the correct duration, it is then "broken" to stretch the fibres and soften the leather , producing a strong, supple pelt with superior fur retention. The final step is applying the Leder Leather Lube, which conditions the leather and ensures it remains soft, pliable, and durable.
While the kit can also produce plain leather (fur-off), its strength lies in creating fur-on pelts that maintain hair integrity, making it ideal for rugs, garments, and display items. Proper hide preparation and careful adherence to the process are key to achieving professional results.
